Redefining House Sitting
There’s a gap most people don’t think about until they’re standing in it. You need to leave your home, whether it’s a long vacation, a relocation, a home sale, or something harder like moving a parent into care, and there’s no good option for what happens to the house while you’re gone. A neighbor peeking in through the window now and then, or a service that drives by and glances at the porch, isn’t the same as someone actually being there. It isn’t enough. Most people already know that. They just haven’t had a better choice.
We think you should.
We’re Larry and Jan Wood, along with our Havanese, Luna. Between the two of us, we’ve owned, remodeled, and cared for more than thirty homes over three decades, so we understand what it takes to protect a property, because we’ve spent our lives protecting our own. We know that leaving a home empty for weeks or months isn’t just a logistics problem. It’s a real worry, and it deserves a real answer.
So here’s ours: we arrive and stay while you’re away. For 30, 60, or 90 days, your home becomes the place we actually live, not a stop on someone’s checklist. Mail gets collected. Packages come inside. The yard gets tended. The house is watched over by people who are there day and night, not passing by once a week. When you come home, or the sale closes, or the transition is finally behind you, the house is exactly as you left it. Or better.
We tailor our involvement to what your home actually needs. Some owners want us handling everything: mail, yard, small repairs, coordinating with contractors or an agent. Others just want a steady, trustworthy presence and nothing more. We’re glad to do as much, or as little, as you need, within the scope we agree on together up front.
This isn’t about taking over or making decisions that are yours to make. It’s about giving you one less thing to worry about, so you can actually be present for whatever took you away in the first place.
How It Works
1. Reach out. Tell us about your home and your timeline.
2. We talk it through. A simple conversation to understand what needs care, and agree together on the scope.
3. We move in. Larry, Jan, and Luna settle in for 30 to 90 days, exactly as agreed.
4. You come home. To a home that’s been lived in, watched over, and cared for the whole time you were away.
